St Joseph's Camberwell Catholic Schools' Federation

As a former pupil and parent, I am extremely proud to be Executive Headteacher of St. Joseph's Camberwell Catholic Schools' Federation (St. Joseph's Catholic Infants and Junior Schools) and it is my pleasure to welcome you to our warm and friendly schools.

Our website aims to tell you about life here, how we work and what we feel is important to us as a school community.

St. Joseph's Camberwell Catholic Schools' Federation is comprised of two voluntary aided Catholic schools working together to meet the needs of our vibrant community here in the heart of Camberwell.

Our schools offer a distinctly Catholic education in an inclusive environment, welcoming children and staff of all faiths and none.

Here, all that we do is rooted in our Catholic faith, as we bring to life the lessons that Jesus Christ taught us.  Our vibrant, multi-cultural school is united by its faith, and we encourage all members, children, staff, parents and governors to share, grow and flourish in faith and love. We celebrate the many different cultures under one roof.

We have high expectations of all our children. We place great emphasis on personal, social and emotional development by encouraging caring attitudes, mutual respect, self-discipline and self-confidence. We take pride in our diverse community and celebrate our cultural and linguistic diversity.

We aim to develop each child as an individual nurturing their strengths and talents; we give our pupils responsibility and believe that they should be supported to do their best in a positive, hardworking learning environment. We prepare them for future life by ensuring all of our children receive the excellent education and opportunities which they are entitled to.  We place a strong emphasis on creativity, sport and ensuring that our children enjoy learning and have fun. Each child is cherished and empowered to achieve academically; good manners and respect for one another are highly valued.

As well as being a community in itself, St. Joseph's is part of the larger Catholic community of the Sacred Heart Parish and St Wilfrid's Parish, both of which we have very close links with. We are proud of the fact that we are the parish school.

Children at St. Joseph's are enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn; when you visit St. Joseph's Infants or Junior School you will see happy children whose excellent behaviour reflects their enthusiasm.

We are a close family school and this has the benefit of allowing the staff to get to know the children and families really well. We encourage you to participate fully in your child's education. Close working relationships between parents, teachers and children ensure the best possible opportunities for achievement, progress and success. Our staff are always happy to talk to parents if there are any questions you would like to discuss.

We welcome visitors - come to St. Joseph's and see for yourself what makes us proud to be part of this school. Our little oasis in the middle of Camberwell.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family to St. Joseph's.

Delia Jameson, Executive Headteacher
