Welcome to St. Joseph's Infants & Reception

Our children love being in school and are happy, independent learners who are encouraged to be the best they can be and challenge themselves.  Learning in the infant school is fun, creative and based on high expectations for all learners.   We nurture our young people to ask questions and be confident to share their ideas.  Pupil voice is a strength, and our infant curriculum promotes discussion of topical issues and the wider world.  We develop children's personal, social and emotional skills as they investigate and explore the world around them.  Children regularly demonstrate our school values of respect, kindness and tolerance.

Our children work together in a supportive way and are encouraged to find solutions to problems.

This empowers them with critical thinking skills and the social and emotional skills need to succeed. Developing reading, writing and mathematical skills are key to empowering our children to be successful.

Our curriculum is wide to include all foundation subjects, so children extend their knowledge and understanding of history, geography, art, design, science, computing, music and P.E.

we want our children to be aspirational with a thirst for knowledge and the resilience and determination to achieve their dreams. We nurture our children to have self-belief, aim high and above all compassion, believing they can make a difference to the world we live in.
